Zakat calculator

Work out the zakat due on what you own. Enter gold and silver in grams with the price per gram, then your cash, what you are owed and what you owe. Zakat is one fortieth - 2.5 per cent - of net wealth once it reaches nisab and a full lunar year has passed. The nisab is a weight of metal, so it only becomes a rupee figure with a price: enter the price of gold or silver per gram and the page works out the threshold and tells you which one it applied. All figures are in Pakistani rupees (PKR).

Gold is measured against 7.5 tola, which is 87.48 grams. Enter a weight and a price together, or leave both blank.

Cash, silver and money owed to you are measured against 52.5 tola of silver, which is 612.36 grams. Entering a silver price is what lets the page work that threshold out.

Debts and dues payable. Leave blank if there are none.

Zakat falls due once a lunar year - about 354 days - has passed with the wealth above nisab. Leave this blank if it has not, and the figure will still be worked out but shown as not yet owed.

Enter what you own - gold, silver, cash or money owed to you - and the zakat due will appear here.
