Important Information for PMEX Clients

Key regulatory guidelines, direct funding procedures, and essential risk disclosures for Pakistan Mercantile Exchange traders.

Regulated Futures Trading

SECP Protected

Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) is the country's only licensed multi-commodity futures exchange, operating strictly under the regulatory oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

Licensed Brokerage Verification

Always verify that your trading services are provided through an active, SECP-licensed futures broker holding valid TRE Certificate credentials.

Standardized Contracts

All trades in gold, silver, crude oil, currencies, and agricultural commodities are backed by clear exchange clearing and settlement mechanisms.

Direct Fund Mode (DFM) Mechanism

Client Fund Safety

PMEX mandates the Direct Fund Mode (DFM) to ensure 100% financial security and elimination of third-party involvement during fund deposits and withdrawals.

  • Direct Deposits: Clients must deposit funds directly into PMEX’s designated clearing bank account using their assigned Sub-Account (SCA) title.
  • Direct Withdrawals: Profit or margin withdrawals are routed directly from PMEX into the client's verified personal bank account without broker intervention.
  • No Cash Handling: Cash payments, third-party cheques, or transfers into private broker accounts are strictly prohibited by regulation.
Important: Never deposit trading margins into personal or corporate accounts belonging to individual agents or sub-brokers. Always use official banking channels linked directly to PMEX DFM.

Trading Responsibilities & Risk Management

Risk Disclosure

Leverage & Volatility

Futures trading involves financial leverage. While leverage amplifies return potential, it equally increases exposure to market volatility and potential capital loss.

Margin Maintenance

Clients are required to maintain initial and variation margins at all times. Positions may be liquidated by the exchange or broker if margin shortfalls are not covered promptly.

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Access

Official order placement occurs through authorized MT5 terminals. Always ensure login credentials and passwords remain strictly confidential to prevent unauthorized trading.

Investor Rights & Dispute Resolution

Client Support
  • Trade Confirmations: Clients are entitled to receive automated daily SMS and email log trade confirmations directly from PMEX at the end of each session.
  • Dispute Redressal: In case of unresolved disputes regarding trade execution or commission charges, clients can formally lodge complaints with the PMEX Investor Complaint Cell or SECP’s Service Desk.
  • Account Statements: Request periodic account ledger statements to reconcile open positions, ledger balance, and total margin utilization.
